Assistance League of Southern California®, a nonprofit organization established in 1919, provides a broad range of essential human services and economic development activities to low and moderate income residents within Hollywood, the San Fernando Valley and the greater Los Angeles area through a partnership of dedicated volunteers and staff.
Volunteer Center of Los Angeles - ALSC
As the largest Volunteer Center in the United States, Assistance League of Southern California's Volunteer Center of Los Angeles has a variety of resources for organizations and communities that benefit from thousands of volunteers who contribute over 7 million hours of service, saving the County of Los Angeles more than $40 million annually. For people looking for volunteer opportunities, there are several programs offering ways to become involved. It was founded in 1949 as the "Hilltoppers Auxillary", and has become the largest vounteer center in the United States.
Operation School Bell®
is a service provided by the volunteers of Anne Banning Auxiliary, Assistance League of Southern California. Together, they provide clothing and personal grooming products free of charge to children referred for service by counselors, teachers, nurses and principals of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD).
Theatre For Children
Colorful costumes, sets, singing and dancing at Theatre for Children, enable youngsters to see live theatre at performances that are done by the Nine O'Clock Players Auxiliary. Volunteer members produce and act in all the live productions. Of the 15,000 playgoers, half are physically, mentally and economically challenged children who are given free transportation and tickets.

Hollywood Senior Multipurpose Center offers a variety of educational, recreational and support programs for seniors. There are also adult day care programs for the frail elderly.
